All Handcrafted Pocket Letter

Hi and good morning everyone!

This is probably going to be a bit lengthy, so I apologize in advance.  There's just a lot to tell. =)  This is a pocket letter I did about 5 weeks ago, but I could not post it, until it was received allllllllll the way down under in Australia!!

This PL went to a very talented lady, and I just knew I needed to step it up several notches, as she makes EVERYTHING!!  Be sure to check out Kimi's blog ( Unique Scrappiness).  She has tons of inspirations, tutorials etc., and is a MUST see.

Okay, so here's the PL, and a little about some of the pockets.  I added a few close ups, so you could better see some of the pockets.  The Corset was created with my Cameo (LOVE that thing!), and I added some shabby chic crochet lace (not sure if that's what it is called).  The Trellis was super easy to make, and I used quilling paper to make the little roses.

Because of the small size, it was easier to hand stitch around the heart than use a sewing machine, and I used some stash to make the stick pin.

I didn't think I was going to be able to pull the "shaker pendent" off, but with the help of a Tim Holtz pendent blank I was able to.  I just typed out the words and used my 1" circle punch and glued it to the rim of the pendent frame.

The idea of the umbrella and gloves came from all the little pretties I see in the mini houses being made.  I used felt to make the gloves, material and wire to make the umbrella.

Happy Mail!!!

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share the last few pocket letters that I've gotten from some very creative PLPS.  I meant to upload these as they came in, but I hit a bump last week.  We lost Britches (you can see him on "my animals" page) due to an enlarged heart.  We had him for 15 years, and will miss him always.  I want to smile when I think of him, so on to happy things.

It's so much fun to see all the different styles, and then to find wonderful goodies and treats in the pockets.  Such fun!  Thanks so much for taking the time out of your day and stopping by.

This month's free stamp

Hi Everybody,

This month, I picked a stamp that comes from a set.  She's a ladybug, but I like to call her doodlebug.  If you would like to get a copy, just use the "contact me" on the side bar.  Life's a little busy these days, so please allow me 24 hours to get back to you.

Bug hugs, I mean big bugs...lol xxxx

Pocket letter in Purples

Hi Everyone,

I've been looking forward to posting this PL, but had to wait for the recipient to get it first.   I got to do some quilling on this one, and a little bouquet.

Thanks for stopping by.  xx

Pocket Letters!!!

Good Morning Everyone,

I wanted to share a new trend of crafting that I am just having a blast with.  This is such an awesome way to use up those scraps that you don't want to throw out, but don't know what to do with, plus a great way to meet new people and make new friends.

Do yourself  a favor and check it out http://www.pocketletterpals.com/  They have groups and events to match anyone's likes, and if you don't find one you like, you can create a group or event of your own, or just play outside the groups.

There seems to be two ways peeps are doing these; collectors and/or swappers.  I'm not the collecting type, so swapping works best for me.  I'm able to find fun ways to use up my scraps and send off goodies to a new home, and in return I get the same.  I just PLAIN FUN!!

There's really no set rule on how to make these and a lot of girls put little goodies behind the pockets that they crafts, but I decided to make the little goodies I send part of the decorations.

Here are the first 3 I've made.  I asked my recipients a few questions so I could hopefully create their PL in ways they would like.  I couldn't post them before now, because I like to wait for the recipient to get them first, but here they are.

Side Step Card

Hey Everybody, I hope everyone had a great weekend, and enjoyed the holiday.  My husband and I have been catching up on home maintenance, but I'm enjoying the extra time with him, and our gorgeous Florida weather!

I started out with the intentions of making a CAS card, but somehow ended up making a side step.  I love The Paper Shelter, and that's where I found this adorable image called Oh My! which I colored with Copics and Promarkers.

Now, I don't know anything about a tiera, and I didn't have anything to make a mini-traditional one.  I did find a picture of one that had roses and beads, so I did my best to make one similar using wire, ribbon and 1/2 beads.  I made the tag with Silhouette, added a couple of clear beads and string pearls around the image, and made a little double bow to finish it off... I hope :)  The papers are from Hobby Lobby, and that's about it.  Thanks so much for taking the time out of your day, and stopping by.
